Is the Covid Vaccine Working ? (Part 2)

 The covid vaccines do not seem to be having the same impact as previous vaccine rollouts such as the MMR vaccine :

Introduced in October 1988, there was a 90% vaccination rate for children in the UK, similar to the rate of the covid vaccine here in Ireland. The impact is apparent in the sharp fall in rates of infection in the following years. 

Are Vaccines Working ?

 On the face of it, yes, they are. About 25% of the population of the UK has now being vaccinated and the data does show a decline in covid cases and deaths since January. 

However, a similar decline in cases and deaths can be seen in Ireland which has only 6% of it's population vaccinated :

Of course, we may not know for sure until UK actually opens up again.
